75 Godiva, Wednesday

The house was gutted down to studs, many of which had been rearranged to make the new configuration of rooms the team had agreed on. Eliot was working on framing the new upper story now, which meant a hard hat, tool belt, gloves, the works.

Seriously, he had this whole men-at-work carpenter look down up here. He hoped his partners appreciated it. Lord knew he did on the few occasions Hardison got down and dirty with a maker get up. He wondered how much Hardison would fuss about the sawdust if they tried to fool around in (a carefully cleared area of) the construction site. . . .

Work was happening, if a little slow. Since the carpenter kept distracting himself with idle fantasies.

[yeah I dunno. Open! Eliot should be visible from the street while he works. . . .]

"Darlin'. We've already got the blue prints all worked out. Where'd you even wanna fit a secret passage?"

"Here," Parker pointed upward, possibly into a space that only she could fit into, and that after she maybe dipped herself in a vat of oil. "So if Raven wants to sneak in, or Kathy, they can do it without being seen."

"Pretty sure they'll be able to manage that with what we've already got planned," Eliot pointed out. "I ain't sayin' we can't do it, Parker, but if we're gonna, it's gonna be somethin' better than a glorified snake-hole."

"Would that mess up the supports?" Parker wondered, flipping out her tape-measure. "We should have a house-warming party when it's done. For Kathy and Raven. They can bring Kathy's guys."

Not Raven's guys, or anything. Raven needed to get her own people too, hmm.

Following Parker's trains of thought should be a professional sport. "I'd have to rearrange some things. Widen a couple walls, maybe. We can throw any party you like, but it's still gonna be a bit before we get there."

"Hmm." Parker let the tape measure snap shut, and smiled. "Naah. We could add it later, maybe." She hip-checked him and said, "I like how it looks already. Is there anything I can help with?"

"Add it --" Eliot sighed through his nose. "Parker, if we're gonna add it, now is the time. It's a hell of a lot easier to move some walls now than when they're full of insulation and electrical wires and plumbing."

"Then I want one, yeah." Parker said, biting her lip. "If we still can. If it's not too late." It was weird, to be *planning* something into their house, but. Yeah. This was something that would make it more homey for her.

"Alright, then tell me where. Somewhere any of us can fit through, not just y'all with no shoulders."
