You didn't do the work Eliot did and not develop a system for self-care. So when Eliot managed to mostly sleep through 3D life size humpback whales during class yesterday thanks to the weird ass cold the pony had given him, he knew exactly how to handle it: hole up at home in bed and ignore the rest of the world until he felt better. He had the backdoor cracked open just enough for Val to slip in and out as she needed to do her business, and he fully intended to hibernate through the weekend.

Okay, so it wasn't the most functional of coping strategies. But it cut way down on him accidentally injuring someone on the slight chance he ended up delirious, and not having to be grumpy at people was sure to help keep his blood pressure down.

Except that the phone kept ringing. With nonsense. That he felt obliged to respond to.

If he were feeling even a little less bleary, he might've realized that this had happened before. Or that he could just turn off his ringer. But then there'd be less grumpy nonsensical ranting, and who wanted that?

[Open, sure!]
