At the docks, then out to sea, Sunday

The colors from the previous days were still holding, if maybe slightly more muted, Fandom's magic slowly fading but still managing to hang on for another day.

Seemed like a good omen as any for a wedding that Eliot still couldn't quite believe was happening.

Eliot's boat wasn't big enough for all their guests so they had "rented" (long story) a well-appointed yacht for the day. It was docked in the Port of Fandom, waiting for all the guests to board. Once the last person had crossed the gangplank, it sailed almost to the edge of the island, where blue water lapped with gray. Eliot's boat was already there, anchor down, Hardison in a tux, playing around with a sound system.

A few minutes to futz with mics and the speakers set up discreetly around the yacht came to life. "Testin'...Testin'..." Hardison murmured. Good. Everybody would be able to hear the ceremony on the second ship.

Looks like it was time to begin.

Time for everybody to take their places, some with a less traditional entrance than others.

Once they'd kissed, it was time to party! The crew of the yacht sent over another gangplank for the wedding party and their attendants to cross over - even if it was likely that some of them might have their own methods of getting across.

There were passed appetizers and, later, a buffet-style meal, catered by Parker's best friend, Peggy Milbank (hey, a little extra business couldn't hurt, right?). DJ Roomba's music player was hooked up to the sound system, so he could spin tunes while quietly zooming over the dance floor. Whether you wanted to mingle, eat, dance, or congratulate the happy thrupple, this was the place to do it.

As the sun went down and took the last of the color with it, Eliot, Parker, and Hardison (and Val and DJ Roomba!) crossed back over to their smaller ship. The gangplank was raised and so was the anchor, a moment later, the engines roared to life and they sailed out of the port and into the ocean proper. At the same time, the yacht ponderously turned around, bringing everyone back to Fandom's shore.

With everyone heading away from them, few people, if any, noticed the portal that opened on the water in front of their boat, bringing them to the ocean of a different dimension, where they could start their honeymoon in earnest.

THEY ARE MARRIED, YAY!

Once Hardison had finished fussing with the speakers, it was pretty much time to begin. He took his place in front of Pastor Carter, where the three of them could stand in a triangle, each of them next to the other.

This was happening, it was really happening!

Kathy, wearing a severely tailored suit, stood behind Eliot, her face wreathed with smiles. After a frantic morning of making sure everything was ready and as close to perfect as humanly possible, it was nice just to stand here and get to watch them make their vows.

However anybody else was crossing to the big boat, Kathy was taking the gangplank over. A quick wave to everybody and then she was ducking into a small stateroom to change into her reception suit. White jacket over a black corset and sharp dress pants. Hell yeah.

And then she was heading back up to the party, grabbing a champagne flute from a passing waiter and looking around for people to talk to.

Eliot twisted a little to flash her a grin over his shoulder. Of all the various things he imagined feeling at this moment (once he'd gotten around to imagining it at all), he hadn't predicted feeling so downright giddy.

It was a gorgeous day on the water, hot and breezy, and his people were all here, safe and happy around him. And were going to be for the rest of his life.

"You know you're about to pick up a step-dad and -mom in one go?"

Raven was wearing a human disguise ~~despite her icon~~ for the sake of the handful of non-Fandom guests, and taking full advantage of the occasion to mimic an oceanic blue dress.

She reached over to brush imaginary dust from Hardison's shoulders and make sure his jacket hung right (it did, the thing was beautifully tailored), and give him a little squeeze and cheer. "Congratulations, Teach."

Celeste Tafiya - or Nana, as she was insisting everyone call her - had been sitting right up front, next to one of the speakers, like she was afraid she might miss a single word. Her eyes had been trained on their beautiful faces and once they were officially married, she was the first one to stand up and cheer.

"Thanks for comin' back for this," he said, glancing backwards to give Raven a bright grin. "Wouldn't have felt right without you."

"Okay but the first time Hardison tries to ground me, I'm throwing such a temper tantrum," Kathy said. Parker hadn't shown up yet, so she felt safe darting forward and giving him a quick hug from behind. "So happy for you, Dad."

"I wouldn't have missed it for the world. Just . . . don't be offended if Misfit and I end up ditching out early." She looked up at the other boat, offering her plus one a little wave. "They get twitchy if they have to be around people too long."

As did Raven.

Eliot laughed and gave her arms a firm squeeze in return. "Thanks, kiddo. Hardly believe it's even happening."

How the hell did he even get this lucky?

"Hey," Dante said, grinning at her.

He was wearing a pretty red vest and pants that looked like they weren't dirty and they didn't have holes in them.

And a long red leather coat.

It was as fancy as he got.

Red vest. Red leather coat. Black pants that didn't have holes in them.

Hell yeah, Dante was here in his fanciest. And... eating food. And grabbing every drink that got near him.

What? It was a party.

"'Scuse me," Cassie offered the woman a little smile as the party fell into full swing. "You're Nana, right? Hardison's mom?"

"Dante," Raven greeted. "Looking . . . like you're from Hell's own biker gang. How've you been?"

From the top level of the yacht, Parker swung/jumped down, work clothes looking good, and took her place next to the guys, expression gleeful. "You look so great," she hissed to the guys, as she un-hooked herself from her gear.

White to a wedding, pfft. She was wearing who she was, a thief, and marrying her guys! Of course she'd want to be comfortable! ... also she would've been giggle-snorting if she'd been wearing one of those silly wedding dresses. This was a Serious Day, c'mon.

And it was all she could do not to hug Eliot, kiss Hardison, or the other way around, because look! Everyone, look at them!

"TA, so long as you're here long enough to see us get this done, it's plenty of time for me," Hardison said, giving her a soft smile. "Everythin' after that is just gravy."

"Hey mama," Hardison said, giving her a long once-over. Did he mind she wasn't in a dress? Hell no. She was in the outfit that made her happiest. "Lookin' good. You think it's time to get this thing started?"

"Good," Dante said brightly. "Not a lot of biking, but a lot of kicking hell ass."

He was gonna stay bright through all of this, too. "You?"

"His nana," Nana corrected gently. "His mom...she couldn't be here today."

Not that Hardison would even want her to be, but that was a different story.

"But I raised an' adopted him, so it's close enough for me," she said. "An' you must be one of Eliot's nieces. I get pictures of y'all now. Ellie or Cassie, sweetheart?"

Raven waited until after the others had made their way over, then shifted into bird form to fly up to the boat.

If any of the more normal guests spotted that, well. Let them explain it away however they liked.

She landed on the rail next to a tall, long-haired person in a skirt and tailed coat, draping her arm over their shoulder as she shifted back to human form.

"Having fun?" she asked.

Misfit raised their eyebrow at her, smiling. "You have the weirdest friends."

"I know." She rested her head on their shoulder. "It's awesome."
